    Responsibilities

    SCOPE OF POSITION:

    The Plant Controller is responsible to supply financial support and reporting to plant operations and upper management. This includes partnering with departmental leads to build the annual budget, develop quarterly forecasts with operational personnel, identify and help to implement plant formulation and cost savings initiatives, and prepare weekly and monthly cost performance reports for management. This position leads all finance activities such as month end closing, cost and general accounting, AP, fixed assets, PR and maintains internal controls.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Development of annuals goals that align with plant/company goals
    • Act as a resource with Plant leadership team on cost savings project development and investment justification
    • Development and compliance with all company policies required to ensure consistent financial reporting, accurate reporting of asset values, and safeguarding of all company assets
    • Support of the Sarbanes-Oxley reporting and audit functions for the facility and ensuring compliance to SOX controls and Financial Policies in place
    • Manages the annual plant accounting audit, internal and external.
    • Review of all plant capital requests, including review of DCF analysis
    • Management of an annual Fixed Asset cycle-count
    • Work with operations to complete a weekly plant financial scorecard and associated analysis Provide commentary at weekly review meeting
    • Review weekly yield results with operations and request explanation for all material variances
    • Completion of the plant month end closing. This includes the publication of the monthly Operational Review packet with analysis. Support the plant manager at monthly meetings
    • With the plant management team, coordinates the development of the annual operating budget and quarterly forecasts
    • Development and analysis of product cost standards, including maintenance of BOM and routers
    • Development of financial bridges to AOP and LE
    • Prepares Monthly spending schedules by department
    • Monitors Capital spending to plan by project.
    • Analyzes formulation and yield variances
    • Completion of LE reviews presentation and all standard reports
    • Support the Plant Manager in all financial decisions or special assignments
    • Manages one financial analyst

     

    Qualifications

    SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

    • Proven management skills to manage one Financial Analyst
    • Strong ability to lead by influence and work across all functions of the business
    • Knowledge of all SOX and GAAP requirements
    • Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, and ERP software, BPCS a plus
    • Ability to work with individuals at various levels in the organization
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • High level of attention to detail
    • 5-7 years of proven financial/accounting experience

    EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
    • MBA or CPA is a plus

    TRAVEL:

    • Travel is required for the position < 10% of the time
