    This position is responsible for leading the Plant Quality and Sanitation teams and recommending, developing and implementing a system to ensure process and product quality consistent with corporate objectives. This position directs the daily operations of the Quality Assurance and Sanitation function to uphold company policies, formulas, specifications and regulatory requirements, as well as ensures that all finished product meets food safety and quality standards. 



    Essential duties and responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned.

    • Responsible for administering, distributing, interpreting, and enforcing compliance with official formulas, procedures, and appropriate policies as issued by Pinnacle Foods Group LLC. • Lead the food safety, sanitation, technical services and laboratory functions on all shifts. • Ensure compliance to state, federal, and local regulations. • Assure efficient and accurate testing, reporting, and monitoring of product safety and product quality per corporate protocols. • Develop and facilitate internal audits to determine/assess compliance to company policy and regulatory requirements. • Maintain systems for checking, validating and verifying process compliance, including but not limited to SPC, HACCP/HARPC Food Safety Plans and Food Quality Plans in order to provide production departments with the tools necessary for the manufacturing of safe, quality product. • Lead development and implementation of plant GMP, Hygiene and Sanitation programs. • Ensure effective food safety and food quality training for plant team members and quality assurance staff. • Advise the plant management team on food safety and food quality trends within the business and recommend appropriate corrective action. • Prepare the annual operating budget for the Quality Assurance department. • Facilitate the development and improvement of analytical methods and sampling procedures, as required. • Advise the plant management on matters of food safety, food quality, process instruction, formulas, specifications and protocol requirements as required to promote high product quality standard. • Develop and facilitate internal audits to determine satisfactory performance of packaging components and the practice of sound warehousing procedures as they affect product quality. • Manage plant pest control programs. • Lead the coordination of ingredient, process and product specifications for the facility, and acts as primary liaison with the various Corporate Technical Services teams.
    • Lead the coordination with Corporate Consumer Affairs and conduct any follow-up required from product quality related consumer contacts. Track trends and take action as needed. • Complete special projects, duties and assignments, as appropriate. • Assist plant operations and marketing in R&D development of new or existing products.



    • Bachelor of Science, required. • Bachelor of Science in Food Science or a related discipline such as chemistry, biology or microbiology preferred.



    • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing plant quality assurance and sanitation programs, or a combination of supervising or managing plant level food safety and food quality assurance and sanitation programs and working with corporate food safety and quality assurance requirements.
    • SQF, HACCP, and PCQI certifications required.
    • Experience with food manufacturing regulations including FDA.
    • Demonstrated “hands on” management experience.
    • Experience working in a food manufacturing environment.
    • Experience working with and leading diverse and cross functional teams.SKILLS/PROFICIENCIES:
