    Responsibilities

    SCOPE OF POSITION:

    This position will lead Warehousing for the facility, while leading the development and implementation of a long term strategic plan for a lean warehouse environment that lowers warehouse costs, and improves efficiency. The Warehouse department will report to this position. The candidate for this position will report directly to the Director of Dry Warehouse.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop and execute plant warehousing strategies in accordance with the Lean Pinnacle Way
    • Manage all warehouse resources to achieve and maintain warehouse targets and goals
    • Facilitate kaizen events, 6 S efforts, and liaises with other department leaders in the plant
    • Implement cost savings improvement projects

     

    SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

    • Demonstrated ability to lead all areas of warehousing in a fast-paced, seasonal food production plant
    • Demonstrated ability to complete cost savings projects
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in a matrix organization
    • Ability to manage a complex budget and adhere to cost plans and annual plant and corporate initiatives
    • Strong analytical skills using tools such as statistics, labor tracking, inventory control, project planning to identify opportunity areas
    • Creative in problem solving and innovative approaches to resolve complex problems
    • Microsoft Office skills such as PowerPoint, Project, Excel, Word, and Outlook as well as Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
    • Ability to quickly come up to speed on complex logistics processes and work with others to identify opportunities areas via data
    • Strong ability to lead effectively and develop subordinates for advancement opportunities
    • Ability to partner with other departments to resolve complex problems and work jointly to find solutions
    • Understanding of Continuous Improvement processes and the demonstrated ability to advance the organization through these efforts.    
    • Demonstrated ability to engage the workforce to improve safety, quality and delivery initiatives.
    • Ensure training is completed to levels that drive operational efficiency
    • Demonstrated ability to accomplish objectives with a laser focus on the right results.
    • Demonstrated bias toward a high sense of urgency and speed to completion without cutting corners.
    • Leads with an infectiously positive approach
    • Able to have a positive influence across levels and functions.
    • Complete special projects, duties and assignments as appropriate.

      

     EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Materials Management, Logistics, Industrial Distribution Management, or equivalent, required.
    • Master in Business Administration, or equivalent, preferred.
    • APICS Certification, preferred.
    • TRAVEL: 10 – 15% travel required
