    SCOPE OF POSITION:

    The Sanitation / Audit Manager is responsible for overall sanitation of the production facility. The Sanitation / Audit Manager assures the facility has a well-trained, efficient and accountable sanitation crew and assures the sanitation levels meet Pinnacle Foods expectations to produce a safe quality product. The Sanitation / Audit Manager is also responsible for the coordination and follow-up of the plant internal audit program

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Must have a general understanding of plant operations; clean-up procedures; waste disposal; scheduling; managing sanitary operations; pest control; sanitation chemicals; knowledge of GMP’s; familiarity with Federal and State requirements; working knowledge of Quality Assurance Standards, SQF (preferred) Trained; and some microbiological knowledge.

    • Coordination and implementation of all sanitation operations in the plant and supervision of all sanitation control measures.
    • Manage PCO relationship and follow up on Corrective Actions.       Audit PCO monthly for accuracy in reporting.
    • Manage the sanitation budget and maintain sanitation supplies.       Assist Quality Assurance manager with budget projections for the sanitation department, projects and capital improvement processes. Manage the use and ordering of supplies and materials.
    • Coordinate and administer training for the sanitation department and other departments as needed. Ensure all required training is complete.

     

      • Maintain master sanitation schedule.
      • Conduct daily pre-operational inspections and ATP swabbing, and maintain documentation and corrective action measures pertaining to any failures for both.
      • Develop and maintain SSOPs for all sanitation/cleaning functions, equipment and areas of the plant.
      • Work directly with the 3rd party sanitation chemical representative
    • Develop and maintain a succession plan for key positions within the sanitation operations.
    • Coordinate and maintain monthly plant internal audits. Lead corrective action efforts and track corrective action log for closure. Facilitate corrective action meetings pertaining to the internal audit.
    • Assist with 3rd-party audits, regulatory inspections, and corporate audits, and lead any sanitation-related audits.
    • Maintain records and documentation of: Sanitation department training, Internal Audit, Pre-operational inspections, ATP results, sanitation chemical titrations, daily sanitation operation sheets, master sanitation schedule, and others as required.
    • Initiate disciplinary action as required based on clear and documented non-compliance events.
    • Enforce all safety practices as directed by regulatory and company policies for equipment, sanitation, product safety and personal safety.
    • Adhere to all policies, guidelines, and procedures, such as GMPs, HACCP, and safety.
    • Assist operation in ensuring all products produced meet quality and food safety requirements.

     

    Perform other duties as required.

    Qualifications

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Manage a Sanitation Supervisor, and oversee supervision of hourly sanitation staff, including the seasonal staff.

    QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred with a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in sanitation or 5-6 years of experience in this field
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Detail oriented, organized, and reliable
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Ability to identify improvement opportunities and to use
    • Working knowledge of Six Step Cleaning Process
    • Microsoft Office Experience to include: Excel, Power Point, Word

    LOCATION:  Waseca, Minnesota

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: Fresh and Frozen Vegetable Plant; Wet environment
