    Responsibilities

    SCOPE OF POSITION:


    Provide regulatory compliance support by having a good understanding of government regulations and laws as they relate to food labeling, manufacture and quality. Demonstrate a solid understanding of business process for assigned brands/projects. Products are regulated by United States Department of Agriculture, Food and Drug Administration, Canadian Food Inspection Agency and other export governing agencies.  
     
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provide regulatory support to manufacturing, marketing, quality analysis, research & development, sales, customer service, vendors, export customers and project teams as needed.
    • Support formula maintenance for assigned brands and audit for compliance.
    • Provide ingredient, formula or product specification information as needed.
    • Proof read regulatory copy and artwork, print ads, intranet and media communications.
    • Support Senior Product Vision and RA team members as needed to develop food labeling and regulatory knowledge (Internal/External Training).
    • Participate in Plant quality maintenance and audits; as needed.

     

    TRAVEL:


    There is a 10% annual travel requirement for this position

     

    Qualifications

     

    SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

     

    • 2-4 year's minimum of Regulatory, Food Quality, Product Development, Culinary, Nutrition experience
    • Basic understanding of Food Labeling requirements; USDA or FDA
    • Proficient computer skills, particularly in the use of Outlook, Word, Microsoft Excel
    • Proficient math skills
    • Sound Knowledge of basic Food Science, Nutrition, Food Microbiology or Chemistry
    • Basic understanding of HACCP/HARPC or other Food Safety and Quality Programs or Bodies


    EDUCATION:

     

    • Minimum Bachelor of Science degree (Nutrition, Food Science, Food Chemistry, Microbiology or Processing preferred)
