    SCOPE OF POSITION:

    We have an immediate need for a Bakery Technologist with a technical/food science background and research and development experience to join the team in Denver, CO / Boulder, CO.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Execute innovation and renovation work on gluten free bakery and snack products.
    • Lead product development efforts from bench-top to factory commercialization.  
    • Provide operational knowledge of bakery equipment including ovens, mixers, extrusion, sheeting, proofing, baking, and freezing in a wide range of bakery items.
    • Work as a technical leader on cross functional projects to deliver results on time and on budget.
    • Design, execute, document and communicate results for factory trials.
    • Lead scientific research of novel technologies in the areas of dough ingredients, formulations, and processes.  
    • Work independently and collaboratively as workload and scope demands.
    • Utilize Pinnacle Foods processes and systems to effectively manage ingredient, formula and finished good specifications.

     

    Qualifications

     

    SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

     

    • Baking science and ingredient functionality knowledge.
    • Experience in testing and commercializing food products in a manufacturing facility.
    • Passion for creativity and product development.
    • Demonstrated team player and self-starter.
    • Ability to utilize experimental design techniques and apply statistical analysis to evaluate and communicate test results.
    • Minimum of five years of successful baking experience.
    • Experience with Gluten Free Baking a plus but not required.

     

    EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor degree or higher in Food Science or Baking Science required.

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS

    • Travel 20 – 30%
