    SCOPE OF POSITION:

    The Category Analyst, will report to the Headquarter Senior Manager of Category Leadership and will provide on-going support critical to effectively manage Pinnacle’s total portfolio of brands, providing metrics and analytical support for Headquarter Category Leadership, as well as key cross functional headquarter teams as needed.

     

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned:

    • Reporting against the performance of key business initiatives (“Big Bets”) and opportunity areas across the portfolio (share/sales trends, Inventory, ad hoc administrative support)
    • Utilize IRI data to glean category / consumer insights to assist in building Consumer and Shopper centric category selling stories. Insights focused against shelving, merchandising, assortment, and retail pricing (SMART) objectives
    • Utilize key insights from household panel, custom studies, and general market research findings (i.e. Mintel), etc., to build compelling category selling stories and uncover opportunities for our brands and retail partners
    • Develop additional inspiring sales presentations as necessary to support departmental initiatives, Sales Leadership and Executive Leadership as needed

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

     

    • 1-2 years professional experience preferred (including internships and/or co-ops) within packaging/consumer products industry, but not required
    • Detail oriented, organized, and strong analytical thinker
    • Highly motivated, reliable and resourceful professional with practical sales experience
    • Ability to learn quickly, work independently, multi-task and prioritize under pressure
    • Additional understanding of customer specific systems (like Wakefern’s PPI or EYC) is a plus
    • Syndicated data experience a plus (IRI/Nielsen) 
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel; Expertise in Excel preferred

     

    EDUCATION:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Business required. Master’s degree preferred.

    None

     

    TRAVEL:

    Less than 10%
