    We are looking for a Senior Manager, Consumer & Customer Insights with 5 or more years of experience – preferably in the consumer packaged goods space – to be part of the Boulder Brands marketing team. The Senior Manager, Consumer & Customer Insights will be responsible for all consumer and marketplace insight for Boulder Brands. This includes the development of the insights and analytics learning plan – and the execution of that plan – to drive meaningful and actionable insights to drive the business forward.


    Reporting to the VP Marketing, the role provides critical input to business unit strategic direction and tactical optimization across the full breadth of marketing activities, as well as ongoing assessment of business performance. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic viewpoint to the business, effectively manage and partner with multiple stakeholders (including Brand, Category Management, Sales, and Finance), bring a sense of urgency and willingness to get the job done, and have an intellectual curiosity to drive new ideas and new ways of thinking.




    • Lead the development of Business Unit, Portfolio and Brand CCI strategies and plans, and ensure that those plans and activities are executed with excellence.
    • Operate as an essential member of the marketing team.
    • For all of brands, provide thought leadership regarding the consumer, customers, the economic and marketing environment, and the use of marketing information.
    • Address business issues through the development and execution of actionable marketing research – and then effectively and persuasively communicate the results, implications, and recommendations.
    • Conduct strategic studies to better understand the category and competitive environment.
    • Partner with the brand team to drive the development of annual category reviews, brand reviews, and situation assessments, providing the foundation for annual brand plans.
    • Monitor key brand performance measures: volume, share, penetration, frequency, equity, identify key business drivers and facilitate activation against improvement against any issues.
    • Support other Boulder/Pinnacle functional areas (Brand, Sales, Category Management, Finance, Investor Relations, etc.) in addressing business issues through the integration of secondary research, primary research, and analytics.
    • Partner with R&D to drive consumer-centric new product development, renovation, and productivity initiatives and testing.





    • Set, manage, and evaluate the priorities of assigned staff, including third-party support personnel
    • Develop a cooperative relationship with partners in Parsippany, NJ
    • Develop and manage an effective working relationship across the enterprise
    • With the VP, identify and address department wide development needs







    • Strong intellectual curiosity and analytic capability, with the ability to understand and triangulate multiple data sources to identify insights
    • Knowledge of secondary data sources, including IRI/Nielsen syndicated POS and Panel data; familiarity with SPINS data preferred
    • Strong self-starter
    • Results oriented with attention to detail
    • Ability to effectively manage third-party (supplier) resources
    • Excellent communication skills: oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal
    • Creative problem solving skills
    • Able to understand the needs of and interact effectively with cross-functional partners
    • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and meet objectives in a timely manner
    • Minimum 5 years of experience, preferably in in consumer packaged goods
    • Relevant majors: Marketing, Marketing Research, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology




    • Bachelor’s Degree required
    • MBA/MA strongly preferred
