    Responsibilities

    Essential Responsibilities:

     

    • Routine media preparation, ATP, ACU swab sampling, environmental testing program, reading plates, logging data and preparing data trends. 
    • Troubleshooting issues that require corrective actions. 
    • Providing information to authorized personnel while maintaining laboratory and equipment in a clean environment.  
    • Performing additional duties as assigned. 
    • Training part-time help, when required, to ensure they are compliant with micro lab procedures.

    Qualifications

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office
    • Ability to work in a team environment, while possessing a problem solving mindset. 
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule from time to time.
    • Ability to work in cold conditions.  
    • Must be able to collect environmental samples from: floors, drains, as well as areas that require use of ladders and stairs.  
    • Flexiblith to work on weekends as needed, especially during the summer months.  
    • Once trained,  must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision. 
    • Position requires good communication and technical skills as well as a strong attention to detail. 
    • All job functions must be performed with the highest degree of integrity.

    Education: 

     

    • Minimum Associate degree in food science or microbiology with a BS preferred.  
    • Previous experience in a micro lab required, food processing and packaging environment is a plus.
