    This role provides technical support to the product development and label development processes by ensuring the accuracy of information entered into Product Vision, our formula management system. The Specification Specialist position requires knowledge of general computer systems and ability to learn new systems. The accuracy of the data in Product Vision is essential as it the source of information for production formulas and labeling content.




    • New Specification Set up
    • Initiate shells for new specifications elements (ingredient and packaging resources, formulas, finished goods, packaging specifications, etc.)
    • Populate new elements with specified properties in collaboration with requestor (product or packaging scientist)
    • Obtain necessary documentation from suppliers to support technical requirements
    • Analyze documents for critical information & work to close gaps with suppliers when information is incomplete
    • New vendor setup, Coordinated with Procurement/QA
    • Manage workflow approval process
    • Specification Maintenance
    • Receive and organize all R&D / Plant / QA / Procurement generated specification change requests
    • Analyze change requests & determine action plan to complete changes with internal and external stakeholders
    • Track and report weekly status for priority update
    • Coordinate requests for new documentation, integrating into electronic filing system
    • Assist PV Admin team with formula, ingredient and packaging validation to BPCS as needed.
    • Review proposed changes with scientist responsible for category
    • Revise elements (resources / formulas / finished goods / etc.) to make changes for specification or documentation changes as approved by R&D Director/Manager
    • Manage workflow approval process




    • Results-oriented person with experience in providing quality support to technical professionals
    • Detail-oriented with proven ability to multi-task and prioritize 
    • Excellent timeline management skills
    • Strong computer skills, displaying proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate cross functionally with both technical and non-technical team members
    • Successfully works independently
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Ability to look at data critically, question and resolve inconsistencies
    • Two-Five years of experience in a supportive technical role in a major organization as well as experience in a fast paced and evolving environment. Experience supporting R&D in a consumer packaged goods (CPG) company a plus


    • Bachelor of Science in Food Science, Nutrition or other Life Science required



    • Requires 15% travel. Mostly to Parsippany, NJ office
