The JDE Technical Architect will be responsible to architect the full implementation of a new JD Edwards Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution. In this role, the JDE Technical Architect will set up the strategy and architecture for JDE, manage CNC activities, review and guide the data integration strategy (including EDI) and manage testing. The candidate will work closely with the implementer Solution Architect assisting on the design and approving the architecture proposed by the vendor.



Technical Duties and Leadership

  • Work with Solution architect to provide an enterprise solution that is scalable and adaptable to changing business needsEnsure the design minimizes customization and utilizes out of the box software capabilities
  • Performs technical oversight of JDE implementation
  • Reviews and guides the strategy to integrate the JD Edwards solution with other existing internal and external applications, including but not limited to EDI
  • Responsible for the ERP application & data architecture and the associated lifecycle/roadmap based on modern technologies and trends
  • Act as a custodian of ERP architecture, solution and roadmap. Defines and enforces on-going architectural governance of ERP
  • Single point of contact to provide recommendations for technical process design, custom software development design/architecture, and interfaces
  • Identify and resolve problems and determine solutions and best practices
  • Ensures all changes or modifications to the application are fully documented and thoroughly tested
  • Design, configure and enforce best security rights, processes and procedures within JD Edwards solution
  • Ensures the JDE system meets SOX requirements



  • 15+ years of experience working with JDE
  • Very strong technical skills with at least 8+ years hands-on design, coding, integration and implementation experience with JDE
  • Experience working with JD Edwards Enterprise One version 9.2
  • CPG knowledge desirable
  • Effective communication skills, both oral & written with both technical and non-technical clients
  • Ability to work independently & within a team environment
  • Demonstrated collaborative, consultative, problem solving, prioritization and analytical skills
  • Unwillingness to accept the status quo; proactive and with a ‘change for the better’ mindset.
  • Proven ability to respond within short time to constraints and meet deadlines, while maintaining accuracy. Strong organization and prioritization skills relating to managing multiple projects
  • Must be able to work closely and independently with functional teams and business clients throughout the company.
  • Strong expertise in functional/business & technical aspects bringing perspectives from all ERP architecture domains (process, application, data, technology & security) into the ERP solution design
  • Expert knowledge of JDE EnterpriseOne architecture
  • Expert knowledge of EDI
  • Expert knowledge of integration options for JDE
  • Expert understanding and use of the JD Edwards toolsets
  • Strong understanding of the EnterpriseOne data structure
  • Experience in leading application development initiatives promoting standard processes and documentation
  • Experience with development management and object promotions
  • Experience with system architecture and design
  • Experience leading JDE testing
  • Experience leading JDE CNC activities
  • Excellent technical problem solving and debugging skills
  • Familiar with general project management practices, including the use of project management software/tools
  • Good understanding of cross functional integrations between JDE Modules and third party integration with JDE
  • Experience working with co-source/offshore development teams on projects.
  • Excellent facilitative, interpersonal, written and team collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment while juggling multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to understand requirements as driven by the business requirements and lead the activities to collect and document requirements
  • Ability to understand system / application components and how the data flows through them
  • Ability to work with technical resources to implement automated procedures
  • Understand technical capabilities and constraints that can affect implementation
  • Effectively communicate conceptual and logical technical models to business and IT partners
  • Strong analytical skills
