JOB SUMMARY:

 

We are looking for an Associate Manager, Analytic Insights with 2-5 years of experience – preferably with consumer packaged goods experience – to be part of the Boulder Brands marketing team. The Associate Manager, Analytic Insights will be responsible for providing analytic expertise and insight for all brands within the Boulder Brands portfolio, and will be the key liaison with the secondary data provider’s onsite representative in managing ongoing business reporting and analysis.

 

The ideal candidate will have strong working knowledge of the various sources of primary and secondary research data and an understanding of how to use that data to answer key business questions. In addition, they will have demonstrated the ability to utilize analytics – in combination with detailed knowledge of the brands, categories, and marketplace – to develop meaningful and actionable business insights that drive volume, share, and profitability.

 

Finally, the ideal candidate will be able to manage and partner with multiple stakeholders (including Brand, Category Management, Sales, and Finance), bring a sense of urgency and willingness to get the job done, and have an intellectual curiosity to drive new ideas and new ways of thinking.

Responsibilities

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Proactively – and in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders – identify key business questions and issues to address through business analysis and analytics.
  • Actively gather, analyze and provide strategic implications related to those business questions utilizing data sources such as IRI, SPINS, and internal shipment reports.
  • Support ongoing business reporting, at both the Boulder Brands and Pinnacle levels.
  • Perform ad-hoc business analyses, integrating multiple data sources, driving optimized strategic and tactical plans and programs.
  • In partnership with Director, manage advanced analytics projects such as assortment optimization, marketing mix, market structures, etc., to ensure optimized spending and prioritization decisions.
  • Contribute to the development of annual category reviews, brand reviews, and situation assessments.
  • Assist in the development of annual and long-range business plans and forecasts, including category and share forecasting.
  • Act as a liaison to IRI, partnering with them on business assessments, coordinating training on IRI tools and applications, and facilitating the prioritization and implementation of database enhancements over time.
  • Support other Boulder/Pinnacle functional areas (Brand, Sales, Category Management, Finance, Investor Relations, etc.) in addressing business issues through the integration of syndicated market research information and custom-driven analytics.
  • Partner with Research Director to develop holistic stories grounded in both analysis of secondary data sources and custom research.

 

Qualifications

 

SKILLS AND PROFICIENCIES:

 

  • Strong intellectual curiosity and analytic capability, with the ability to understand and manipulate multiple data sources to identify insights
  • Knowledge of secondary data sources, including IRI/Nielsen syndicated POS and Panel data; familiarity with SPINS data preferred
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Strong self-starter
  • Results oriented with attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively manage third-party (supplier) resources
  • Excellent communication skills: oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal
  • Creative problem solving skills
  • Able to understand the needs of and interact effectively with cross-functional partners
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and meet objectives in a timely manner

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience, preferably in in consumer packaged goods
  • Relevant majors: Marketing, Marketing Research, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology
