    The Sr. Manager of Transportation Operations is responsible for the development and execution of overall transportation strategy to include on-time performance, management of all transportation costs, management of transportation coordinators, and carrier development. This position is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations and maximizing the efficiency of carrier’s service. The Sr. Manager will be responsible for the management of relationships with the current carrier base to meet customer service demands and manage all transportation costs. This individual will also look for and analyze new opportunities that will enhance the logistics network.




    • Accountable for all service and cost KPI’s and identify and manage trends.
    • Manage and oversee PFG transportation coordinators performance and career path development.
    • Resolve chronic service and capacity issues; ensure PFG carriers are performing to expectations and maintain corrective action plans for those that are not. Proactively identify problems and swiftly work with senior management to implement the appropriate solution.
    • Identify opportunities for freight reductions and various service improvement projects. Recommend improvements to existing or planned logistics processes. 
    • Monitor industry standards, trends, or practices to identify developments in logistics planning or execution.
    • Prepare reports on logistics performances capturing all KPI measures for upper management review. Provide ongoing analysis in areas such as transportation cost, carrier performance and CWT. Enhance the development of our performance metrics.
    • Practical hands-on project implementation, program management, or strategic performance management experience a plus.
    • Review procedures, such as distribution or inventory management, to ensure maximum weight efficiency and minimum cost are being obtained.
    • Be the liaison between the transportation department and other internal departments. Need to work independently and handle multiple projects in the absence of detailed instruction.
    • He/she will insure that the plan is in accordance with all the company's strategies, goals, objectives, and procedures while meeting its financial commitments.
    • Manage the primary activities of the deployment and delivery cycle including: planning (load building and mode/carrier selection), execution (tendering, track trace and scheduling), and reporting (performance to budget, compliance

    BS/BA in Business, Supply Chain/Logistics, or Engineering required


    15% travel required
