SCOPE OF POSITION:
The Senior Manager, Procurement will be the leader for the Strategic Sourcing of specific spend categories for the company. Categories in scope include Packaging materials, External Manufacturing, and Indirect goods and services (Logistics, IT, and Professional Services). Partnering closely with internal stakeholders, this leader will set an overall sourcing strategy and ensure successful and efficient execution of that strategy. He/she will ensure proper supplier selection, drive competitive bidding whenever possible and practical, and negotiate goods and services for the lowest total cost, highest quality and superior performance. He/she will be a strategic thinker, and an individual capable of managing complex tasks independently while working with and supporting many stakeholders.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop close working relationships with stakeholders to become a trusted partner in the sourcing of goods and services.
  • Develop and execute an effective strategic sourcing plan which enables efficient sourcing and contracting in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understand the marketplace for assigned categories, and execute the strategic sourcing process with a focus on continuous improvement in total cost, innovation, quality and service.
  • Negotiate supply agreements utilizing RFPs and e-Auctions.
  • Develop benchmarking and cost modeling to support the drive to best-in-class pricing.
  • Support new product introductions working closely with R&D and Commercialization leads as appropriate.
  • Manage effective communication of requirements, and compliance to our procurement policy with all stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement a Supplier Relationship Management program to transform our relationships with key suppliers and drive continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Assess current and future market trends, and prepare price forecasts for the business.
  • Develop supply risk mitigation strategies for assigned spend portfolio.
  • Work closely with business area Finance teams to successfully document and articulate savings and other value-added benefits to the business.
  • Continually improve our internal processes in working with internal stakeholders, Legal, and suppliers.

Qualifications

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 to 10 years of strategic procurement experience
  • The successful candidate will have experience and expertise in the strategic sourcing of one or more of the following categories: Packaging materials, External Manufacturing, and Indirect goods and services (Logistics, IT, and Professional Services).
  • Experience in strategic sourcing, with a proven background of sustained cost improvement.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders to comply with appropriate Procurement practices.
  • Strong relationship management and people skills.
  • Strong data management and analytical skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Able to effectively interface with all levels and departments within the organization.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain/Procurement related field is required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Dependent on the categories managed.

TRAVEL:

  • Travel is estimated at less than 25%, dependent on business need.
