SCOPE OF POSITION:

The Senior Manager of Supply Chain for External Manufacturing position will be a key part of an end to end Supply Chain organization responsible for the selection, commercialization and the ongoing execution of production at suppliers.  This position will be the leader responsible for all aspects of the Supply Chain that supports the execution of the External Manufacturing Strategy.   Critical tasks include translation of the production plan to suppliers, matching capacities against various short, medium and long term demand scenarios, being part of the innovation team to identify external manufacturers to supply new product, driving cost savings initiatives with Suppliers, and being the key point of contact for all suppliers on all matters relating to Supply Chain strategy, execution and compliance to service reporting.

 

In addition to the above, the position will be a key contributor to the supplier performance and rationalization program, providing key information relating to the service level and general performance of the supplier.  The program is critical to our initiative to reduce our supplier base to a manageable group that is able to deliver against our objectives of creating innovation, delivering productivity and ensuring the highest possible levels of Quality & Service.  He/she will be a strategic thinker, and an individual capable of managing complex tasks independently while working with suppliers and supporting many stakeholders across the business.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential duties and responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned.

  • In conjunction with the broader Supply Chain organization, match supplier capacity and capabilities to the short, medium and long term demand planning process for the company.
  • Communicate the production needs to key suppliers, ensuring material and capacity are available to meet the needs of the company and deliver 99% + customer service.
  • In conjunction with the Continuous Improvement team, design and implement the most efficient production calendar allowing the supplier to maximize production and deliver greater levels of productivity for the company.
  • Make formula based recommendations for Days of Stock for raw materials and finished goods to enable 99% Service levels.
  • Recommend and implement a supplier integration portal that allows Pinnacle to communicate needs and timing to External Manufacturing Partners
  • Drive Cost savings ideation sessions at the suppliers, identify plan of activities and actions; and track improvements. Work with procurement team to deliver savings on the contract.
  • Collaborate pro-actively with the innovation team to establish the supply chain processes, trials, feasibility and start up visits, learning curves, production schedule, communication cadence, KPI’s and ways of working with Suppliers for new product launch and delivery.

Qualifications

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • The successful candidate will have extensive experience of managing complex supply chains ideally in Food & beverage industry.
  • Must be experienced in working across all aspects of the company to deliver best in class supply chain performance.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment where judgment and decision making are a must.
  • Extensive experience in and around a manufacturing environment, but also very comfortable in a corporate setting.
  • 5 to 7 years of food industry experience necessary to understand thoroughly the materials processes and supply chains of suppliers.
  • Strong relationship building skills demonstrated both internally and externally.
  • Strong leadership and people skills, adapts well to a fast paced and open culture.
  • “Hands On” management style able to work across the enterprise at all levels.
  • Able to effectively interface with all levels and departments within the organization.

 

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or other related field is required, Master Degree is preferred.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

  • This position has one direct report.

 

TRAVEL:

  • Minimum travel is 10%, could be more based on business need.
