Responsibilities

  1. Contribute to and protect the interest of Snyder of Berlin.
  2. Accept or reject all contractors or suppliers of questionable performance as it applies to the engineering function.
  3. Comply with all regulatory agency regulations with respect to the engineering function.
  4. Implement and direct an effective preventive maintenance program.
  5. Contribute to the capital planning of the company.
  6. Implement the necessary training of maintenance employees for the satisfactory maintenance of the plant and facilities.
  7. Supervise the installation of all capital equipment.
  8. Engineer the necessary modifications to equipment and buildings.
  9. Direct and schedule activities of the maintenance employees in accord with labor management agreements.
  10. Control maintenance and capital budgets within the guidelines established by the Plant Manager.
  11. Maintain good relationships with all departments in the company operation.
  12. Keep adequate records and drawings of all new, existing or modified plant equipment, buildings and utilities.
  13. Constantly be aware and suggest engineering changes to improve plant efficiency.
  14. Constantly seek outlets for unused surplus equipment and maintain up-to-date status list.
  15. Adheres to all policies, guidelines, and procedures, such as GMP, HACCP, and work and safety rules.
  16. Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of maintenance management experience in a food or high speed consumer products manufacturing facility.
  • Ability to supervise and direct the work activities of others.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Strong bias for action and drive for continuous improvement. TPM, Lean Six Sigma, or other Continuous Improvement experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and analytical skills; ability to work well with others.
  • Highly organized; able to manage multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast paced and dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Power point and Excel.

 

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.

 

 

TRAVEL:

  • 5-10%
