SCOPE OF POSITION:

This position will report to the Senior Manager of Accounting & Controls and will be responsible for general accounting services for both financial and tax reporting.  The accountant position will cross-train and develop their skill set across various intra-department roles and responsibilities.  This position will continue to build and maintain strategic partnerships across all cross-functional departments to support financial reports and analysis. 

 

 

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Weekly intercompany AP offsets and AP reconciliations
  • Reconcile AP accounts daily & work with AP/IT departments to resolve related AP issues
  • Processing banking virtual check deposits and reconciling with plant submission worksheets
  • Maintaining marketing activity authorizations & capital project numbers in subsystems
  • Lead administrator of the Pinnacle escheatable program
  • Integral team member in the documentation of accounting processes of the new ERP system
  • Prepare and support daily and monthly accounting journals across all work streams
  • Build strategic partnerships with cross functional teams to support best practices
  • Assist financial reporting team with SEC filings, balance sheet account analysis and ad hoc requests
  • Reconciling balance sheet accounts and select income statement accounts for SOX compliance
  • Other department duties and cross-functional responsibilities as required

 

Qualifications

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 0-2 Years of accounting experience
  • Knowledge of GAAP/Financial Reporting
  • Excellent Knowledge across all MS Office applications, especially proficiency in Excel
  • Excellent communication, analytical skills and attention to detail required
  • Well organized with a willingness to learn and the ability to adhere to tight timelines
  • Ability to work with and build cross-functional team relationships
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize in a fast paced environment
