SCOPE OF POSITION:
The Human Resources Manager will be working in a fast-paced, growth oriented environment. The successful incumbent will lead the Human Resources strategy and activities in the manufacturing plant and will be a strategic business partner to the plant manager and their leadership team. This position will report directly to the Plant Manager.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a member of the Plant Leadership Team with responsibility for developing a team culture that drives high performance
  • Provide HR functional expertise and leadership
  • Manage a small team of HR specialists and/or generalists
  • Ensure objectives, goals, strategies and metrics are communicated and delivered
  • Lead various core annual programs including, but not limited to: Benefits Open Enrollment, Wellness Events, Leadership Development training, Compensation Planning, Talent Acquisitions, Performance Review/Talent Assessment, Recruiting, and Seasonal Staffing (if applicable)
  • Partner closely with HR resources in COEs-Centers of Expertise and Shared Services including the areas of Benefits, Compensation, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, and Affirmative-Action Planning
  • Ensure that the plant is in compliance with local, state and federal laws as well as established HR processes and procedures
  • Ensure that the manufacturing plant is staffed with the highest caliber of talent
  • Lead performance issue resolution with sound Coaching Skills
  • Serve as an employee advocate
  • Facilitate communication across the organization providing guidance to employees and leaders on HR processes, problem solving, dispute resolution, regulatory compliance, and litigation avoidance
  • Provide continual leadership and guidance to team members for the purpose of increasing their effectiveness and establishing good working relationships
  • Promote an environment conducive to teams, teamwork, and accountability
  • Complete special projects and other duties and assignments as assigned

Qualifications

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Five (5) plus years in Human Resources, required
  • Five (5) plus years in a manufacturing environment, preferred
  • Two (2) plus years supervisory experience in Human Resources function, preferred
  • Talent Management; proficiency in assessing and developing talent
  • Talent Acquisition: proficiency in recruiting for both hourly and salary positions
  • Performance Management: proficiency with processes and systems
  • EEO/Affirmative Action: proficiency in managing standards
  • Compensation and Benefits: working knowledge; some experience/proficiency
  • Employee Relations: skilled at ER; investigations, dispute/conflict resolution, documentation and leadership of employee events in the plant
  • Ability to align recognition/compensation/benefits programs with plant/company goals
  • Proficiency in MS Office software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems (i.e. PeopleSoft, Kronos, etc.
  • Strong HR functional & technical skills
  • Strong bias for action and time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage projects independently from start to finish and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable interacting with all levels of management, including senior leadership
  • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills: verbal, written, and presentation
  • Ability to solve complex problems, issues, matters

 

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field, required
  • Master’s Degree in related field, preferred
  • SHRM PHR/SPHR preferred

 

TRAVEL:

  • 10%
