The role of Manager Trade Marketing is to use analytical skills and business acumen to drive trade investment and other resources to grow the business in a consistent and sustainable manner year on year.

 

Responsibilities

  • Representing sales organization, responsible for aligning cross-functional teams; Sales, Marketing and Finance, in the development and execution of the annual operating plan.
  • Leading the development of the Trade Marketing Strategy to achieve defined business objectives across all product categories ensuring deliverables against the business objectives on a quarterly basis.
  • Ensure Field Sales organization executes against business building initiatives that deliver consistency between overall brand strategies and account level details.
  • Responsible for management and monitoring of Trade Marketing Investments and pre/post analysis of promotions thru development of best practice recommendations that improve trade investment effectiveness.
  • Marshall and deploy cross functional resources to drive profitable business results.
  • Work with Marketing and Supply Chain, responsible for assisting in the monthly and annual forecasting (S&OP) of assigned brands.
  • Frequent communication with cross-functional teams to support data/information collection, collaboration & issue resolution.
  • Is seen as a key and valued contributor by Sales in building and providing them with the tools they need to succeed
  • Is able to accompany Salespeople on key sales calls and provide the credibility needed to help drive desired business outcomes
  • Contribute to the Company’s goals and objectives around our core values; trust, candor & ownership.
  • Must be able to work cross-functionally with a variety of headquarters-based experts in a variety of disciplines and articulate “ways to win” that resonate and enroll others
  • Accountable for the in-market performance and results on assigned categories and customers.
  • Provide leadership to the business planning and strategic planning process.
  • Responsibilities include administrative and execution tasks; other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5-7 years Consumer Package Goods experience
  • Field Sales and/or Trade Management Experience required
  • Minimum 4 years of responsibility for trade spending management and analysis required
  • Self-starter who takes initiative. Strong results orientation required
  • Adept multi-tasker who can manage multiple projects at once
  • Proficient at establishing relationships with cross-functional peers
  • Flexibility, ability to work under tight timelines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Bias for action and confident in decision making
  • Demonstrated leadership profile and strong communications skills to champion both strategic goals and delivery of short-term financial goals
  • Strong analytical skills, with a proven track record of recommending and implementing business opportunities based on synthesizing data / consumer insights
  • Expert knowledge of excel and power point
  • In-depth understanding of trade marketing/sales activation/retail execution to have a positive commercial impact

 

EDUCATION:

BS degree required, MBA preferred

 

TRAVEL:

Less than 20%
