SCOPE OF POSITION:
This position is responsible for planning, organizing, executing and monitoring plant Shipping and Receiving and Warehouse operations activities while maintaining Safety and Quality as top priorities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned.
¨ Maintain plant Shipping and Receiving and Warehouse policies and procedures.
¨ Develop Warehouse Operations associates in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
¨ Ensure these metrics are the groundwork for all decisions and process changes in the department.
¨ Ensure standard processes are in place for the receipt and storage of raw ingredients, packaging, production supplies and finished goods.
¨ Ability to analyze material process flow, adjust and improve as business needs change.
¨ Ensure adequate inventory of raw ingredients, packaging materials, production supplies and products in accordance with inventory cycles and schedules.
¨ Ensure products are properly stored and that storage facilities are properly maintained.
¨ Analyze and adjust receiving and shipping schedules to ensure efficient distribution of products in accordance with internal and external customer requirements.
¨ Actively promote plant safety programs and procedures that are in compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
¨ Actively promote adherence to corporate Quality, Sanitation, GMP and HACCP standards to achieve a finished product within quality control specifications and food safety.
¨ Monitor and maintain warehousing areas (freezers, raw material storage areas, docks, and etc.) to ensure compliance with all Corporate and regulatory requirements for sanitation and housekeeping.
¨ Ensure compliance with corporate quality policies and procedures, including product hold, rework, product traceability and destruction of out-of-code product.
¨ Manage staffing levels to current labor standard requirements.
¨ Apply disciplinary actions in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
¨ Ability to identify when corrective actions are needed and how to apply problem solving techniques.
¨ Use continuous improvement techniques to help gain productivity improvements, drive savings, and improve efficiencies in Warehouse Operations.
¨ Provide continual leadership and guidance to team members for the purpose of increasing their effectiveness and ownership of the business.
