This position has the primary responsibility of maintaining and supervising the accurate reporting of all plant prime materials and ingredient inventories. To supervise the hourly workforce and clerks assigned to the area.




  • Supervise all prime material activities in accordance with corporate and plant policies, programs, and standards concerning safety, quality, productivity and cost.
  • Provide continual leadership and guidance to team members for the purpose of increasing their effectiveness and establishing good working relationships.
  • Actively promote plant safety and environmental programs and procedures that are in compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage staffing levels to current standard requirements.
  • Assign responsibilities to team members, as required to meet planned production schedules. 
  • Coordinate the proper training of team members within the assigned department.
  • Apply disciplinary actions in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
  • Review shift activities and results, making adjustments as required for continuous improvement.
  • Investigate production delays due to materials and ingredients and takes corrective action as necessary.
  • Keep management informed of the status of materials and ingredients and promptly notify management of issues impacting production.
  • Promote an environment conducive to teams, teamwork, and line-driven accountability.
  • Track and update daily inventory reports for materials and ingredients.
  • Order and work with suppliers and transportation companies for delivery of materials and ingredients.
  • Supervise and update SCAR data base for materials and ingredients.
  • Complete monthly and year end closings. Supervise the year end physical inventory.
  • Complete daily activities of receivers and stay within SOX compliance.
  • Support corporate accounts payable on issues that may arise.
  • Manage and update the drop lot and all storage trailers assigned to the facility.
  • Track late arrivals and no shows for vendor transportation.
  • Complete special projects, duties and assignments, as appropriate.
  • Over see the RFA process for the department.
  • Review of all cycle count transactions and reconcile to BPCS.

  • Undergraduate Degree preferred
  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentration in Material’s Management, Logistics, Industrial Distribution Management, or equivalent preferred.


  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a warehouse environment including materials management preferred.
  • Professional experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
  • Experience working with a diverse group of people preferred.
  • APICS Certification preferred


  • Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, and BPCS.
  • Ability to work with individuals at variously levels in the organization.
  • Solid listening/communication
  • Must be self motivated with little supervision
