SCOPE OF POSITION:

The Sr. Demand Planning Manager will manage demand planning for brand portfolio and develop consensus forecast, coordinating all available information from customers, sales and marketing functions, and historical data

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Generate monthly tactical consensus forecast using Logility DP.
  • Manage and clean demand planning files to ensure accuracy; actively monitor and adjust SKU-DC allocation as needed (e.g., promotions, customer prioritization, recalibrations of DC network)
  • Lead the cross functional team consisting of Marketing, Sales and Finance to align to an unbiased “One Number Forecast” for Leadership Brands.
  • Gather, filter and analyze all other market intelligence and determine effects on the demand forecast
  • Isolate promotion volumes and reflect in data files by SKU, warehouse, customer, and/or region as needed
  • Partner with Supply planning managers to analyze implications of forecasted demand for operations
  • Coordinate with Logistics and Deployment to understand cost impact of forecasted SKU-DC allocation
  • Coordinate with Customer Service, Sales, and Marketing to gather market intelligence in terms of POS data, inventory policy, event participation and anticipated buying behavior
  • Assist with SKU rationalization projects
  • Communicate the demand forecast and major changes to those affected by the change within Marketing, Sales, and Supply planning
  • Facilitate S&OP pre-leadership meetings, identifying demand shifts and measuring weekly/monthly performance
  • Participates in the evolution of the demand planning strategy within the Business Unit.

Qualifications

CAPABILITIES:

  • Detail orientated, organized, reliable, resourceful with a relentless focus on outcomes
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize under pressure
  • Excellent consultative skills and the ability to work cross-functionally and with all levels of the organization

 

SKILLS/PROFICIENCIES:

  • Statistical and computer skill-set suited to heavy involvement with forecasting software and ERP linkage, Logility DP experience preferred.
  • Solid leadership and communication skills concentrated on data gathering, meeting facilitation and data dissemination
  • APICS/ CPIM/CSCP and or IBF CPF certification preferred

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience in Demand Planning in a seasonal and complex product portfolio environment in the process industries—preferably in food manufacturing.
  • Business or Operations experience, with solid quantitative skills

 

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
