SCOPE OF POSITION:


The Human Resources Manager will be working in a fast-paced, growth oriented environment. The successful incumbent will lead the Human Resources activities in the manufacturing plant, and be a strategic business partner to the plant leadership team. This position will report directly to the Plant Manager and will be dotted-line to the HR Director, Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Serve as a member of the Plant Leadership teams with responsibility for developing a team culture that drives high performance
  • Provide functional expertise and HR leadership
  • Ensure objectives, goals, strategies and metrics are communicated and delivered
  • Lead various core annual programs including but not limited to: Benefits Open Enrollment, Wellness Events, Leadership Development training, Compensation Planning, Talent Acquisitions, Performance Review/Talent Assessment, Recruiting, Seasonal Staffing
  • Partner closely with HR Specialists in the area of Benefits, Compensation, Recruiting, Shared Services, Affirmative-Action Planning
  • Ensure plant is in compliance with local, state and federal laws as well as established HR processes and procedures
  • Ensure manufacturing plant is staffed with the highest caliber of talent
  • Lead performance issue resolution with sound Coaching Skills
  • Serve as the employee advocate and maintain collaborative rapport with Union leadership
  • Facilitate communication across the organization providing guidance to employees and leaders on problem solving, dispute resolution, regulatory compliance and litigation avoidance.
  • Provide continual leadership and guidance to team members for the purpose of increasing their effectiveness and establishing good working relationships
  • Promote an environment conducive to teams, teamwork, and accountability
  • Complete special projects, duties and assignments, as assigned

 

Qualifications

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Five (5) plus years in Human Resources required
  • Five (5) plus years in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Two (2) plus years in Labor Relations, preferred
  • Two (2) plus years supervisory experience in Human Resources function preferred
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with assessing and developing talent
  • Strong recruitment experience for both hourly and salary positions
  • Performance Management processes and systems
  • Experience managing EEO and Affirmative Action standards
  • Knowledge around Compensation and Benefits
  • Strong Communication skills; verbal, written, and presentation
  • Ability to solve complex matters
  • Ability to influence others

EDUCATION:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources or related field, preferred
  • Master’s Degree in related field, preferred
  • SHRM PHR/SPHR preferred

 

TRAVEL:


10% travel is required
